After an initial meeting with author Faith Yanai, I began several rounds of sketches and meetings. It was important for the author to be involved Throughout the Process to create something that would represent her intentions and poetry well.
Through journal entries and poetry, The book traces the author's journey of breaking free from an abusive relationship and learning how to live on the other side.
After many rounds of sketching and iteration, both Faith and I finally settled on a design that we felt captured the emotive qualities she wished to express, while functioning as a striking graphic that would stand out in any collection of books.
